Electropolishing Performance

Surface finishing beyond aesthetics

Electropolishing delivers a wide and diverse range of benefits across industrial manufacturing environments. Whilst aesthetic improvements are immediately visible, the enhanced functionality of an electropolished surface can also deliver measurable gains in cleanliness, release performance and operational efficiency.

This was demonstrated during a project undertaken for the Cadbury confectionery facility in Bournville, where Anopol sampled stainless steel chocolate moulds used within the production process.

Cadbury required improved release efficiency for freshly moulded chocolate bars. Following electropolishing trials and production testing, it was found that the chocolate released more effectively from the mould surfaces, helping to improve productivity across the process line.

Enhanced finish quality

In addition to improved release performance, the electropolished moulds produced a noticeably higher gloss finish on the chocolate itself, creating a smoother and more refined ‘silky’ appearance after moulding.
